I find it amusing that Latka says "Thank you very much" at the end of its test runs. Why can't all testing tools be that friendly? For that matter, why can't all software be that friendly? What if Microsoft Word said "thank you for using me" when you shut it down or "I'm sorry" whenever it crashed? I suppose that's what would happen if we tried to make all of our software just a little _too_ "user friendly."

I think that Jason makes a good point in this e-mail about community based software. When it all comes down to it, most of the software that I use came out of one person's focused determination to build something that kicks ass. That person didn't necessarily build it by themselves, but clearly they directed the action. As far as I can tell, shifting the paradigm is something that is best done alone.
